Judges’ Comments The cover for Essential New Zealand Poems delightfully nails the mid-century feel. It perfectly blends the 20th century New Zealand inspired landscape painting and the themes of place and geography present in many of the poems. The printed linen finish of the cover makes it a tactile delight that nicely complements the colour palette, whilst the typography is the glue that binds all of the cover elements together. It’s a delight to hold and read.
