Judges’ Comments The judges were immediately drawn to The Critic’s Part right from the nicely stacked typography on the cover which, thanks to a hefty spine width, is beautifully repeated on the books spine. It’s the impression of simplicity which is the clever deception this design achieves, but don’t be fooled… the whole book has been beautifully considered throughout and the designer has created an extremely elegant design that demonstrates a solid understanding of traditional typographic technique which feels extremely assured and controlled, and mixed with just the right balance of contemporary touches that make this book a complete design.
