Judges’ Comments: Some stunning and arresting photography is a gift to the designer; in this field guide design meets encyclopaedia. It has an edgy design visual language which seems to position the book for secondary school pupils and borders on sensationalising the content. This is a case of design being thought through to meet the content without playing on too many clichés.
