Format: Journals range from 108 to 144pp and the Teacher Support Materials are 16pp or 20pp. The Journals are paperback, perfect bound and Teacher Support Materials are saddle stitched booklets. Standard journal covers are printed on Via Felt pure white 270gsm and text on 100gsm offset uncoated white woodfree paper. Special Issues: Case printed on Mohawk Felt pure white 270gsm and text on 100gsm offset uncoated white woodfree paper. Teacher Support Materias: Printed on 120gsm Sapphire Offset.

The design objectives for the journals is to honour Toitoi’s commitment to look young people in the eye, treat them with respect and produce a beautifully designed book that reflects how much we value and admire them.
The Latin American and Southeast Asia Special Issues were commissioned by the Latin American and Southeast Asia Centres of Asia-Pacific Excellence (CAPEs), in partnership with Toitoi Media and the School of Languages and Cultures at Victoria University of Wellington, to celebrate the incredible languages and cultures of the Asia-Pacific. The covers of the Special Issues feature the official colours of the respective CAPEs. The School of Languages and Cultures coordinated a team of experts who translated all of the writing into the languages of the regions, creating multilingual publications in English and 14 other languages: Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Bahasa Indonesian, Balinese, Burmese, Khmer, Lao, Malay, Tagalog, Tamil, Thai, te reo Māori, Tetum and Vietnamese.

Typography: Standard Journals: Cover font Azo Sans Uber and Futwora; text Futwora 21/8pt and Brown 10.5pt. The Toitoi: South East Asia Special Issue included numerous additional fonts for the translations.

Grace McFarlane of Toitoi Media worked with experts coordinated by The School of Languages and Cultures at Victoria University of Wellington to ensure high-quality typesetting of all the additional scripts used in the Toitoi: South East Asia Special Issue.
